Hopping From Holiday to Holiday

Between the Indian national holidays and the US holidays we have been in celebrate mode since mid-June!! We had Halloween up in full-force, we won our awards for decorations and Lady Hiva had Halloween boxed up and the house clean 1 NOV. I was busy so I did not get the (other) tree(s) up that day as tradition. So the house was clean for 1 whole day before the Christmas bins came out!

We sold quite a bit of the decorations when we moved. We did not want to have all the weight in just holiday décor...however, we still have 4 trees up in the house! HAHA. Two large trees and two small trees.

We have had several activities to enjoy at different places throughout our community. Indians know how to have a party--good food, good music and LOTS OF SPARKLES!! My kind of people! :) It gives us an excuse to get some colorful (and sparkly) outfits to wear. And none of us complain about that prospect.

This girl is constantly doing cartwheel. She has perfected them on her own. She is now on to trying to do the splits.

I have all our creche out from around the world. I just need to find one for India...that may be a bit of a challenge.

So we are all decorated for the American Holiday Season! We just need to hope that our packages for Christmas make it here on time! I guess if they don't we will just have to extend our holiday hopping for a few more months!!! This colorful tree has been up nearly a year now, so why not just keep celebrating?!

Halloween Indian Style

With Halloween being on a Monday, it meant we had several days of celebrating.  Lady Hiva and the two Muggles celebrated all week! Each day they watched a different Harry Potter movie and they did Halloween activities.

We also found time to spend with friends. We have plenty of people that are either expats or have lived in the United States, so we did a traditional trunk-or-treat one day and door-to-door trick-or-treating the next. So MUCH candy!!

Lady Hiva and Lucky Dragon wanted to make our hallway look like the Great Hall at Hogwarts. So Lucky Dragon and I made the vision a reality!

We used some old moving boxes to bring Lady Hiva's vision for a pirate ship trunk to life. Again, the two Muggles and I went to work. It is amazing what you can make with cardboard, paint, a tarp.

As walked down the street people stopped to take photos of two Pirates carrying a skeleton down the road!

We won the best trunk award!! An award we are all proud of!

We went to every home available for trick-or-treating. We would start at the top of the building and make our way down floor by floor. We were all sweaty and hot by the end.  But I guess the kids all had to work for that candy!

After he had several friends over for dinner. It was so much fun.

Halloween season was fun. Thanks to good friends and the mail for supplying crafts, Lady Hiva was able to keep her Halloween traditions alive even on the other side of the world!

Skele-grow greeted everyone to our home for the month...and even dressed up as a pirate for Trunk-or-treat!

These two love their gingerbread houses...for Christmas and Halloween.
