An Attitude of Gratitude 2025!

I am not sure that I like Thanksgiving for the food. Not sure that I ever really did. I mean the food is ok, but it is not the thing I look forward to (Lady Hiva thinks I am crazy because 'it is ALL ABOU THE FOOD!' Haha. I am, however, thankful for this season of gratitude. As many of you know, years ago I started to do the "Attitude of Gratitude" post on social media--one post every day of something I am thankful for during November. It was started by my cousin Navy during her middle school year--they had some kind of kindness project. I have done it every since. And people all over the world have started to do the same thing.

I love that this time of year starts us thinking about all that we have. Hopefully our little Muggles are learning how to have that gratitude as well!
Another reason that I love this time of year is the Christmas decor goes up! Mine went up right after the Halloween celebration. Right now we have 4 trees up--one giant one, one large size, and two small trees in the Muggles' bedrooms. I love that it brings warmth and light to the house. I also love that the stores are full of Christmas decor and items. When Lady Hiva and I had the day off the other day, we just sent and explored a few stores!

We decided that we wanted to put lights on the house. But because the house is REALLY tall and we do not have a ladder, we settled on having a thick green garland across the from porch. It was fun to go get different types of boughs and then braid it together. Our elderly neighbor, who is always watching out his window to see what we are up to, brought over his ladder for us to use. We have loved getting to now him and he wife. Such good people.

The two Muggles helped putting up the lights. They asked me every day when I was going to put lights up. So we finally made it happen!

In Germany Christmas time means many things--markets (our favorite), warm wine (for those who drink it), and food! We are doing our best to try and sample them all!

Lady Hiva, Lucky Dragon and Koala Bear made cookies together. They also made salt dough ornaments and colored them for their trees. The three of them had a good time. My role was to clean up!

We were lucky enough to have Madre and Kell show up for Thanksgiving. That means we have had family at the house for Thanksgiving for the first time in years! It is a long drive but we are so glad that they were willing to make it. We all cooked together to get ready. (Which is a bit of a feat when you realize that we were in a small European kitchen!)

We had some really great friends over for dinner too! It was great! We had a night of eating and playing games until we were too tired to continue.

This is the project of putting up our lights outside!

Lucky Dragon and Koala Bear will sit down at any piano and play together. There are several people in our congregation who play the piano and they will sit down and play with him! I love that Lucky Dragon will hear a song and play it by ear until he can get the whole thing down!
