Animals and Everest! National Geographic Is Amazing!

One of the days this last week we realized that Koala Bear and I were both done earlier than normal and we had tickets for that day to the National Geographic Museum in Washington, DC. We decided to go down and see the exhibits.

It was funny that when we arrived our tickets were for FEBRUARY, not MARCH! HAHA. Luckily, they were nice about it and let us in. One of the things that I have loved about National Geographic from when I was younger was the photography. To see some amazing photos of animal life blown up made then pictures feel real and intimate.

I took a few photos, but, of course, the photos are no where near the justice of the art and science they deserve.

The exhibit on Mount Everest was really cool. Koala Bear was really interested in Everest because it is her "favorite ride at Walt Disney World!" Both of our Muggles want to make a trip to Nepal when we are living in India to see the grandeur of the Mount Everest itself.

Cherry Blossom Festival!

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival has officially arrived! And the weather was warm enough to get out and explore. After school and work were done we headed to the National mall to enjoy some of the best that Washington, DC has to offer.

We parked at the Capitol building. That was not necessarily planned, but due to the HIGH and dense foot traffic and the way that we could not turn left when I wanted to, we ended up doing an impromptu driving tour passed the Capitol and the Library of Congress. It actually worked out really well because we rented some scooters to do our tour! It was so much fun.

We were dodging people the whole time, but it was a great experience. The blossoms were beautiful, we were able to talk about some history as we went to each of the monuments.
