Beaches, Beef and Bats in Phuket!

 

The kids had a few days off of school, so we decided to head to the BEACH! We debated about which beach to choose and ultimately ended up in Phuket, Thailand. It was AMAZING. Everything that we needed and wanted. As Lucky Dragon said, "Nepal was an adventure trip, THIS is a vacation!" We did not want to leave. 

The first thing we noticed as we landed was how calm and clean it was. The sky was blue and the nature was beautiful. We stayed at the Marriott on Merlin Beach and it was perfect. Complete with a private beach and three huge pools to enjoy. We changed our clothes and spent the rest of the day in the water. We ate dinner and then went back for more. The water was clear and the beach was perfect. Lucky Dragon loved that when it was low tide, he could go explore the tidal pools for shells and other sea creatures. We spent hours and hours outside enjoying nature. 

There were elephants every where. We were shocked when we were at the beach to see some elephant eating up on the hill nearby. 

The next best part of the trip was the food! We loved the beef burgers and steaks, the fresh fruit, and the vegetables. We all would pile our plates full of fruit and vegetables for every meal. 

We tried Mango Sticky Rice at EVERY SINGLE MEAL! 

One of the things that we loved about this Marriott is that they had a conciousness about the nature around them. There was a butterfly sanctuary around the property, they educated about the bats that come out to eat mosquitos at night. One night we sat at the pool and were excited to see all of the bats fly through the corridors and around the buildings. 

It was a great experience! We had a fun packed week and loved every moment of it!
