Sakura Blossoms of DC

We ventured down to Washington, DC to see the Cherry (Sakura) Blossoms. It is an obligatory trip each year when we are here in the States. There are so many beautiful trees around our area and near work, but the Cherry Blossoms in DC are famous.

We wanted to make it down all week, but with a packed schedule, we did not make it. So we went on the weekend. We know from past years that going on the weekend is a dangerous idea (SO MANY PEOPLE), so we opted to go early. Several other people had the exact same idea! It was crowded already. By the time we parked we had plenty of people to vie with for that "perfect shot."

We walked around the Tidal Basin. The whole thing. By the time we finished it had gone from crowded to FULL ON PACKED. I was ready to be done--beautiful flowers or not! Glad we did come early. We heard that the metro broke records this year for how many people rode.
