Surprise Winter Storm To Amsterdam

The snow storms kept coming! There was a
Blanket of snow all over Amsterdam. It didn't stop us from getting out to explore. Thankfully we had Big Al and were not reliant on public transportation. Most of it was closed down due to the snow. It was also good we know how to drive in the snow. We could just go wherever we wanted!

Behind the hotel was a large park. It was perfect for winter explorers.

These two were out in the snow from sun up until it was so dark to see!

Of course they could not help but stop to throw things in the water. The rocks were covered with snow. So snowballs and ice chunks were the chosen substitutes!

Even after I warned him not to do it, Lucky Dragon wanted to see if the canal was frozen enough for him to walk on. I turned around for 3 seconds and he was in waist deep. I could not take a photo fast enough. Koala Bear, luckily, was smart enough to not follow him in despite his 'encouragement.' We all had a good laugh. He was wet. He learned a lesson. His uncle Trevor would have bee proud haha. (I am just glad he didn't get sucked under)

I was not fast enough to get a photo of him IN the water.

Because this guy was so wet, we had to find a coat for him. We had only packed one because we were not planning on a long trip to Amsterdam.  Lady Hiva found a second hand store nearby. We made our way there. It was the largest and most organized secondhand store I have seen. They had all kinds of things.  Unfortunately, not coats. But we did find this beautiful handcrafted cabinet.
It was shockingly cheap. We both liked it but had to figure out how to get it home from another  country.

We went back later and bought it! It fit in the back of Big Al, but just barely. Nothing else fit. So I made a quick trip back to Frankfurt! Even though it showed the whole time, I was making good time until I was close to Frankfurt and a semi truck jack-knifed in the freeway. I spent the next 5 hours parked on the freeway waiting to move.

It was a memory for sure. Lots of snow, good food, and now a piece of furniture to take as a souvenir.
