As we drove along the Swiss Alps, the scenery was breathtaking. We saw little village after little village tucked between steep mountains and blue lakes. We kept saying we should stop and swim some more after each one.
Finally, as a spur of the moment decision, I turned off an exit to see a village--Iseltwald. We had to laugh because it was exactly the same village we had stopped at years ago--that time again by random choice. All the villages and lake we past and we chose the same one twice! Madre has many ancestors from this area so I told her that maybe we have some ancestors calling us this way. We will have to research that.

We were only there for about 30 minutes, planned to swim, when a storm blew up the lake. you can see it coming towards us.

It hit and there was SO much water. Then hail. Then more water.
We watched the rain and the lightening. I loved hearing the thunder reverberate across the valley.
The calm lake was stirred up by the wind and the shore started to look like ocean waves. The creeks from the mountains became larger and the clear waters were stirred up with silt and dirt so they looked beige not blue.
After the rain we went exploring Iseltwald more.

We did a quick drive through Interlaken. A city we love. We stopped at another small lake just outside the city that we could stop and swim. It was fun to jump off the different heights of boards. We were only planning on staying for an hour or so, but ended up staying until it was almost sunset.
