Paris For the Win (Again) - Part 2

We have continued to explore Paris and the area around the city. Everywhere we went we found something we loved. We would see one thing and then around the next corner, we would see another. Sometimes we forgot to take photos because we were in the moment. Luckily, both Lady Hiva and I had phones that between the two of us, we caught many of the moments--at least a bit of them!

Several times we ended up driving down Champ Elysee (a name I still cannot say while looking at the words. It does not compute at all!) That also meant we drove past the Arc de Triumphe several times. It is a beautiful reminder of freedom. At one point we happened to be passing when they were playing the daily 1830h tribute to freedom. It was special to see that. Next time we are in Paris, we will make sure we are there to hear it while I am not navigating the traffic.

Seriously, there were moments driving in Paris that we were reminded of India. People are a bit wild --especially the bikes.

Eating in Paris is an art. We had SO much good food. We all left each meal happy.

We did a stop at Costco! It felt like being home in the States. Lade Hiva and Lucky Dragon were hoping that the Costco would have bacon, but they didn't. Sadly. I guess that will have to wait until a trip to London.

We made a trip to the Palace of Versailles. It was not something we were going to do originally, but we got some last minute tickets and loved it. The grandeur is incomparable.

Again, I was so into the textures of the art. The statues of stone that were so detailed that it looked like material was especially striking.

I loved the floors. I could have just done a whole post on just flooring.

We went looking for another Laduree that we had never been to...Across the street was another beautiful garden. We went to look while we ate our macarons. It was the Garden and palace of Luxembourg. The sprawling gardens that were designed by Marie de'Madici herself. They were so fun to explore. Lady Hiva and I both loved that the one section had statues just dedicated to strong women leaders.

Our two Muggles doing what they do best--Koala Bear is attracting animals and Lucky Dragon is throwing rocks into the water.

As we walked I went into the Elise Saint Germain de Pres. It was a smaller chapel and on the outside did not look like much...but inside it was colorful and gorgeous!
