We only had Madre and Kell for a few days. We tried to make the best of it. We decided to head down to the Black Forest. We drove south to Freiberg im Breisgau (or as Madre and Kell say, "the other Freiberg." because they go to the Freiberg LDS temple often.
We arrived and it was raining really hard. As they say in Germany, there is no bad weather, there is only bad clothing decisions. So we grabbed the umbrellas and went exploring.
We stopped at the Dom in the middle of the city. It was BEAUTIFUL.
It was really cool to see the tribute of thanks for the harvest. It was made of fruit, breads, and flowers all harvested from the area nearby. We ate dinner (at a Mexican restaurant...lol). When we came out it was sunny! It was so gorgeous.
We then drove through the Black Forest as we traversed north. It was such a breathtaking drive. Our drive took us through Triberg. It was a cute little mountain city that manufactures the famous black forest clocks. Too bad that by the time we made it there it was dark. We will have to venture back there sometime!
