After the seeing the Olympics in person in Paris we were addicted. We decided that since Italy is just a few countries away, we were going to see the winter Olympics! As soon as the two Muggles were done with school and activities, we headed south. Our first stop was Neuschwanstein Castle. We have been here before, years ago when Lucky Dragon was a baby. It was fun to go back to the iconic castle. It was the castle that Disney allegedly used to design his castles. It is also in this castle and vaults in the mountain under it that Hitler used to hide all the stolen art during WWII.
We had a vehicle full of snacks and suitcases! The best thing about driving over flying is that we are not worried about weight and space.
It was a cold and snowy day. But that did not stop us from walking up the mountain to the Castle.

Sadly, you cannot take photos in the castle as you do the tour. Which is sad because it is so ornate. The last king of Bavaria built it. He was a bit eccentric and had each room bigger and more design than any of the other castles he had built. The only room we could take photos was the LARGE kitchens in the basements. He was later arrested and imprisoned then died. This ended the monarchies in the area.
