Our next stop on our Tour-de-Home Leave was Salt Lake City. The best part about being in Utah is cousins! These two Muggles spent every moment they could with cousins. They sit and talk and laugh and have fun. It is fun to hear them in the back seat together laughing about something. It is constant chatter and adventures.
What makes summer and cousins better? WATER!
The cousin train owned the lazy river!
We had a pickleball day at the park. Lady Hiva and I realized that we like to play but we are DEFINITELY NOT as good as all of them. We play to have fun and not embarrass our teammate! HAHA
No stop in Salt Lake is the same without family game nights. This time one of the little people requested that we do Hokey-Pokey! HAHA
And of course we eat, and eat, and eat.
I wanted to go on a hike and talked these people into going with me. They look so happy in the photo above--it was PRE-hike! HAHA. Not sure they were so excited about it after the hike.
It was so beautiful to see the flowers and views in the Utah Mountains.
The reward for the hike was Blood's Lake. Unlike other hikes in the Utah mountains, you can swim in Blood's Lake. However, other than putting on our feet, nobody but Koala Bear got it. It was COLD. As evidenced by the snow drifts still surrounding the lake at the end of June and beginning of July!
A private piano lesson that I snuck a photo on.
We made a family trip to Antelope Island. We wanted to see the Great Salt Lake and the Buffalo. It was crazy to see how low the water level of the lake is. Still beautiful, but VERY VERY low. I guess that is part of living in the desert.
We all walked out to the lake. Passed all the gnat things that looked like dirt until you walked up to them and thousands (truly thousands) of them took off to avoid us!
Skipping rocks on the clear water flat was an adventure.
The buffalo herd was good to us and were grazing right next to the road. That meant we got some great photos.
The Great Salt Lake is so salty that not much can survive in the water. Some of that are these tiny brine shrimp.
We have been having fun so far! But stay tuned, more adventures to come!
