Our First Visitors to Istanbul

Today was an exciting day! We had our first family visitors to Istanbul! They happened to be coming through the area after picking up their son from his LDS mission in Hungary—but no matter their reason for coming, we are glad that they are here!

We went with them for a boat tour of the Bosphorus. It was a BEAUTIFUL day! I even had a bit of a sunburn by the end (to which my cousin informed me that I spend too much time in an office—I agree there! Haha)

We had fun riding the ferry up to the mouth of the Black Sea and seeing all the beautiful homes that flank both sides of the water. The view looks so different from the water than when you are driving passed them in a car.

We stopped at an old castle ruin on the Asian side hiked up to the top. Lucky slept in the stroller the whole time we were carting him up a steep hill! Lucky Guy—pun intended! Thankfully there was a great sea wind to cool us off before the picture.

It was a fun day! We hope there are more visitors like this so we can have more experiences!

  1. I can't get over how green and blue and bright and quaint and beautiful it is there. Every time I read your blog I think, We would love to come visit! (I don't know if you can tell but I feel a little starved for natural beauty here.)
