Family Cupcake Wars: Who Are Does This Represent?

We started off the fun weekend with Heather and her kids coming to visit! It was the first time that they had to deal with COVID practices of wearing masks etc. I had to laugh how they did not like it, but we have been doing it for months.

It was a weekend of laughter for sure!

To start the day off, we had a "celebration" for all of the school age children that survived the odd COVID-inspired school year. It was fun to do!

We have been trying different activities as an extended family. This week Lila and Stacy planned the activity. They wanted to do a cupcake war. We all brought cupcakes and our decorating items. They put all our names in a bowl and we drew them out. a name of another family member. We had to decorate the cupcake to represent that person whom we chose. It was so much fun to watch everyone cycle through the table for their turn.

I had to laugh  when people complained that the 10 minutes was too long when they were not at the table, but when it was their turn to decorate, they complained it was not long enough! HAHA

After everyone was done, we set them up for people to guess which family member the cupcake represented. Some were really good! Others were...more abstract.

Here are some photos of people with their representation cupcake.

This was the winner of the competition. Charlie made by Cupcake!

After we successfully got everyone hopped up on sugar and cake, we played a rowdy few games of "Signs" and the "Name Game" and finally "Wolf/Mafia." If anyone walked by the house and heard all the yelling, they would have wondered what was happening!

After a weekend of playing Koala Bear still wanted to have story time with Cupcake. Cupcake was about half way through the book and OUT she was!

It was such a cold weekend. There was rain ALL weekend, which is unusual for Utah desert weather. But I am sure the plants needed it. It was so cold a few of the nights, there was snow on the mountain tops. I was happy that it ended with a beautiful rainbow!
