The next phase of our semi-normal whim road-trip was Boston! But before we could get to the city center we stopped in the suburbs for an Easter-egg hunt! The park we chose--on a whim!-- was perfect. There was nobody else there due to the rain. It was a fort which made it perfect for hiding eggs.
Lady Hiva and I were in the back of the vehicle stuffing plastic eggs for about 15 minutes, then it took us about 5 to hide the eggs. It was so much fun for us to watch them searching all over the for the eggs. I liked seeing how they would get the hard-to-reach eggs. Problem solving at it's best!
It was classic her hustle against his long legs! There were both moving rather fast!
We made it to Boston and it has our vote for our favorite big city that we have toured. It had the charm of history that Philadelphia has and the food and culture of New York, but it was missing (thankfully) the trash of Philly and the weed of New York. It was raining so we did not do as much as we could have, but we made the best of our time there for sure!
We made a stopr to see Paul Revere's home. It was quite the conversation as I was trying to explain why Paul Revere was important. "Why couldn't they just see that the British were coming on their own?!" LOL...sometimes I just cannot explain it logically enough, I guess.
Lady Hiva was able to try her Boston Cream Pie.
Again, she passed on the lobster.
Due to the rain and the late night in Boston, we decided that we were going stay another night. We found a place just outside Rhode Island. Then in the morning we woke up to explore the state. It is a state that I grew up visiting Auntys in, but I never actually thought of it as a vacation place. But we spent several hours exploring and could have spent even more.
We found a coastal beach--again by whim--and it was amazing. We found crabs, made friends with the locals, saw oysters, mussels, and clams. One local taught us how to find more crabs by overturning rocks. Another local let us help him dig for clams for his Easter Dinner. All of them were so friendly.
Lucky Dragon loved to see the clams "spit" when we made noise near them! I did not know they did that, I guess you learn something everyday! Koala Bear apparently is really good at opening clam shells! She determination and tough fingers, she opened a few for us to explore.
Looks at all of those mussels!
Poor Jellyfish did not make it after the tide went back out.

The Muggles were again begging to stay longer when we decided it was time to leave.
We then made our way to Connecticut. When I asked the Muggles what they wanted to see in Connecticut, they said, without reservation "the BEACH!" So we found another beach. There were so many to choose from. So we chose one at random--I pulled off of the New Haven exit and drove towards the road that said "Lighthouse." It paid off!
