Immerse Yourself In the Movies!

Many of you know that our family has been Harry Potter fans longer than we have been a family! Lady Hiva and I both love the books. When we were in the States we would listen to the Jim Dale version audio books (highly recommend) over and over as we drove. So the kids also learned to love the magical world too. Lady Hiva declared that if we ever went back to the United Kingdom, we were going to Harry Potter film Warner Brother Film Studios!

We are all glad we went. It was not the books, but it was still really cool to see the way they made all of the magic happen for the movies. It was an amazing experience.

Based on our personalities, we are all sorted into houses. Apparently, we have four people in our family and each of us are in a different house.

It was really cool to be in the different sets and learn about what they did to make it look real. The cupboard room for example was stocked with items from the director's own basement.

The large room for the grand hall was amazing it was cool to see how it was all real except the roof, that was done by CGI.

We were excited to see the house points. We learned that when it was built it caused a national shortage of Indian glass beads. HAHA

All of the paintings in the halls were real oil paintings made for the film. The artist used the directors and other actors as models for the paintings.

The use of optical illusions was really amazing to see.

we did the green screen and it was fun to see the kids learning how to fly!

It was amazing to see the way they used small 3D models to film aspects of the movies.
We were able to go into the Privet Drive home.

The technical special effects were really cool too!

We learned how they built scale models of cardboard them used pen cameras to practice filming the shots before they filmed it for real.

They had a life sized model scale model of Hogwarts. It was so detailed.

WE ended the day having high tea in the Great Hall.
