This past weekend it was the day to commemorate Germany being reunified. It was reunified in 1990. One year after the Berlin Wall fell. We all had the day off from work and school. Since Madre and Kell were here, we went out to explore. We saw some amazing things around the city.
We ended up down at the Neue Altstadt and the Römer. As we toured around and saw the different sites, we were excited to see the live music playing. It was fun to listen as we passed through. Kell and the two Muggles stopped and just listened while we walked around with Madre.

Madre and Kell wanted to do a Main River cruise. That was fun. We had actually planned on doing it the day before but they had their car towed when they parked at the zoo! So we spent the time rushing to get the vehicle out of the tow place. It was a really expensive mistake. haha
The river cruise was fun. We were able to see the city from a different advantage point and learn about some of the history of Frankfurt as we went.

After the boat tour we were walking back to the vehicle and they were still doing live music on the Neue Altstadt square. But this time they were giving out candles and singing songs together. We stopped and we sang and waved with them. They had leaders of the community speak about being reunified and how important it is to remember history. And to stand up for what we believe in in a non-violent way and remember that we are stronger together. Both of which are important messages.
It was a special, and unexpected experience to share with other people in Frankfurt.
