Lady Hiva is Chosen as February 2013's Mighty Mom

I received a message from one of Lady Hiva's good friends saying that she had nominated Lady Hiva for the February Mighty Mom Award on the popular blog Mother's Niche. Lady Hiva was chosen and the Mother's Niche team asked me to write a tribute to Lady Hiva.

OF COURSE I WILL! Who wouldn't want to write a tribute so such a special person?

There are so many things that I could say, so many aspects of Lady that I love. You can read it here:

FEBRUARY 2013 Mighty Mom Award

I am so thankful that Lady Hiva continues to be an inspiration to all.

(She also does not know that this is going up until I post this..so it will be a surprise to her as well!)

  1. Hiva- I just barely read about you and what trials you have had. I lost two babies; one at 25 weeks & another at 28 weeks. Have you been tested for Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome? I had a successful pregnancy by giving myself Heparin injections in the belly every 8 hours. My son was born at 34 weeks, 4lb 7oz, &16 3/4" long. I researched my condition and found the best Dr in the US at the time that knew about this disease. He managed me through my doctor in another state as we were in the military. I will continue to follow your blog. My prayers are with you and your baby boy.

  3. Dustin, the love you have for your wife and family is touching. I read your book and it was wonderful. Growing up in Beaver myself, I could visualize the places of your youth. I am pretty sure I babysat you and your sister when you were young. I didn't realize you we're in DC. We are not far from you in NC. I'm glad to find your blog.

    1. Thank you Christi! It is always fun to hear that people have read the book. I would love to hear your thoughts sometime. Also, if you have a free three minutes, would you put a review up on Amazon? Thank you!
