Our first stop at Universal Studios Orlando was in the Adventure Island Park. We did not get there as early as we went to the Disney parks, I was up all night doing laundry (see fire portion of the last post) and only had 2 hours of sleep. We headed into the park and went all the way back to Hogsmeade first. Harry Potter was the only reason we came after all!
Hogsmeade was so much fun. Our first stop was at Olivanders. They only allow one family in at a time. Which was OK because Olivander "chose" Lucky Dragon to get a wand. It was fun to watch them interact. Lucky Dragon knew for weeks that he was going to get a wand and had chosen to get Sirius' wand. At all of the Universal Harry Potter parks they have interactive windows that you can use the wands. As you do the "spells" you have the items move and create magic.
We all enjoyed the rides. We went several times on Flight of the Hippogriff and the Hogwarts Castle. Our favorite ride was Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure. We went several times on it as well. It was great! We laughed and laughed! The theming was great and the surprises on the ride were even better.
The other parts of the park were not as well done as the Harry Potter park. Koala Bear loved the Dr. Seuss portion so we spent plenty of time there. However, it looks run down and not as detailed as Disney. We rode King Kong and the dinosaur ride and got really wet! We laughed and laughed.
For the end of the day we stopped at a delicious Turkish Restaurant. We loved being reminded of Turkey and the amazing food there.
