(looking at this post again I just realized the hotel has some spelling issues)
They let Lady Hiva be the "money-changer" for the dance! HAHA
Lady Hiva and Aunty Tae--Aunty Tae is the only sibling that was able to make the reunion. Several of the others have passed on--most of them within the last several years and the others are restricted due to COVID restrictions.
On Sunday we rushed back up to Salt Lake from Beaver to be there for the family devotional. In the devotional we heard stories from many family members about each of the MANY MANY children that Lady Hiva's grandparents had.
I had admiration for Lady Hiva's grandmother, Pule, who married a man with three children, raised them as her own and then had several of her own. (photos below). She was a devote disciple of Christ and as I looked around the room at the posterity she raised, it was astounding. She is a woman I will look forward to meeting someday.
It was a great reunion. We were able to celebrate ancestors, learn about family we did not know before, and find ways to connect. We missed all the family that could not be there, but we were blessed to see those that were able to make it.
