It was a fun 24th of July in Beaver. It is the one holiday that I really like to be in Beaver. it is fun to see friends and family from all over the world come together to celebrate. Lady Hiva and I drove down early in the morning to be at the parade. The two Muggles were staying with Pluba and Papa for the last several days. We were so happy to see them again! The parade was fun. It was nearly 2 hours long with all of the floats. There was SO much candy that was given out. At some point the kids had bags full of candy and stopped even going out to get more there was so much!
Lady Hiva was so excited to get cheese from the Creamery and plants from Kerkisek's Nursery. We had cousins on two different floats that threw all kinds of candy and popsicles to us.
We went to the City Park and ate lunch that Pluba and her ward members made. It was fun to sit back and watch Madre in her busy-bee mode getting things done. We then spent the next several hours talking with friends and family while the kids played carnival games. That included me challenging all the little kids to a tug-a-war--me against all of them!
We walked through the car show and then went to ride horses with all of the visitors that were joining us for the day.
Last stop was the rodeo where the highlight was cheering on Beau-D and Cole in their trailer race! So much fun!~
We watched fireworks from Melanie and Dale's back yard before we made a late mad dash back to our house!
