Birthday Celebrations in Three Countries

 

One of the best parts of the after Christmas excitement is that we get to celebrate our Koala Bear! This year we did that in three different countries. And it was amazing. We had a party with cousins in Germany--complete with balloons and a pinata. We ate bacon cheeseburgers at 0100h in Saudi Arabia. Then we had more cake and celebrating in India. 

She loved that at any moment over the course of these three countries that we would break out in "Happy Birthday" song. She would get embarrassed, so we would sing it louder! Ok, ok, most of the time it was just me, but often Lady Hiva and Lucky Dragon would join in. We sang to her in the German Christmas market as we wound through stalls. We sang in the airplane. We sang in the middle of the restaurant in Saudi Arabia. We sang at the store. We sang at home. We sang at dinner, at bedtime, and during FHE. 

We love this adventurous girl so much! This past year she attended 2 different schools. She progressed in reading and is now reading chapter books. Her current favorite is Ivy and Bean. She loves to draw, color, and cook! She is really athletic and has taught herself to play the piano, ukulele, and drums! (yes, we are now getting her some lessons to expound on that).  She is both shy and an extrovert. She is an excellent swimmer and is the best helper around the house! 

To say that we love her is an understatement!
