November rushed by quickly. I finished another round of chemo--so that is great. It is always rough to go through chemo, but I am glad when it is done. This time was less time than previous times so it was intense, but not as intense as the past.
By the end of November I could go outside again. I started with a few things a day to build up my endurance. Most of those were Christmas related. Koala Bear went with her mum to a church activity making Christmas decorations and learned how to make bows. She has been teaching us all how to do it since. Right now those bows are the only decorations on our tree. An unusual departure from my trees packed full of decor.
We were so happy that we could continue our tradition of giving with Light the World. While we were in India we had to choose from online options. But there is something about going to the machines and selecting ways to help others in person. The Giving Machines in the Washington, DC area are only a few miles from us this year! We all went up and chose items we wanted to support. It is telling how our priorities have changed after being in India--this year we gave family meals to refugees, medicine to children, chickens to rural farmers, cleaning supplies, and educational packets.
One of the Light the World representatives asked Lady Hiva if we wanted to answer some questions about the Giving Machines after we were done. She agreed. I was surprised that she did. Then they pulled out their big camera...she was shocked. I had to laugh, this is what you agreed to!!!
We also went to see the Nutcracker Ballet performance. One of our friends was performing so we went to see her. It was also fun to have the family see such an iconic Christmas tradition from around the world.
We are so excited to bring on Christmas! Presents are under the tree already and we are all so happy to have our month ahead to celebrate!
