Christmas Day 2024!

The long awaited day arrived! As with many Christmases prior, our day and season was unique. We have tried to do many of our family traditions, but we have also done some new things.

Our tree was a real tree and had only ribbons and homemade ornaments on it. The simplicity was beautiful. One of the things we did this year was the same as last year, we made gifts for each other. Each of us drew one person to "buy for" and one person to "make for." It was fun to see the tree look so full with the gifts we had carefully bought or chosen for each other. We were all excited for the day to come so we could give the gifts we have spent time making.

Lucky Dragon made me a box to put my cuff links in. I have been using an old cake mix box that I had duct taped together and rolled up and old t-shirt. This is far more helpful! I love it. Koala Bear made me an art museum book with each page telling a story through her art. She made Lady Hiva a story book of their relationship and it was illustrated by herself.

I made Lady Hiva a puzzle it was so fun to do. I made Lucky Dragon a blanket with photos of Turtle's adventures with us this last year. I made Koala Bear a blanket with her and the many animals she has loved over the year. Lady Hiva made the two Muggles fluffy poof crocheted pillow balls.

Lucky Dragon inviting everyone to the 'arcade.' It provided hours of entertainment.

I gave Lady Hiva a shave ice machine. It took several days of research to find one that makes shave ice, NOT snow cones.

Lucky Dragon made me a lego tower that says "Fun" on one side and "Dad" on another.

It was a beautiful day. We spent it together trying out all of our new gifts. We watched Christmas movies and cooked. Lady Hiva and I made Lupulu and haka. She wanted to make something to honor her mum. We also had turkey and ham...you would think we were feeding a whole army! HAHA
