So this week of the pregnancy is an exciting, and scary week
to hit. The baby is officially halfway through the gestation period of a normal
pregnancy! And the best part is…there has been no problems so far!
The doctors still keep a really close watch over Lady Hiva.
We have an ultrasound or a doctor’s appointment at least every 8 or 9 days. The
progress has been really positive. SO that is exciting! Little baby, Tau’aho
(yes we finally finished negotiations on the name and found one that we like),
has now made it farther than all his sisters. In 8 weeks he will have made it
as far as his brother.
The scary part about this week is that usually about 20
weeks is when Lady Hiva starts to have pre-term labor. We are hoping the
cerclage will keep that from happening. So far everything is good. As the
pregnancy progresses, we celebrate each milestone. Of course, each week we complete
is a happy moment. Then we were happy to pass 12 weeks, the first tri-mester is
over and complications diminish a bit. At 15 weeks all of the vital organ are
formed, another milestone. 20 weeks is halfway. Our next will be 24—the “viability
date.” 26 is when we will start to feel comfortable because quality of life is
stronger. 28 is how long Vaitafe made it and he was alright….and it goes on
from there.
The last few weeks we continue to be blessed. Some members
of our ward gave us several of their “over-stock” items that were barely used.
So we now have the bassinet, stroller, baby carrier, car seat, and swing. As I
have said many times, there are some good people in the world.
Thanks for taking the journey with us. It has been
uneventful so far, let’s hope it does not get too rocky in the upcoming months.
Wonderful news! Still pulling for you guys. i hope the coming weeks are just as uneventful.
