Spending a Night In Evermore

We crossed another autumn bucket-list item off the list today--we went to spend an evening at Evermore! It is a themed entertainment park that highlights life in Medieval Europe. Lady Hiva has wanted to go see what it is like for years and we finally were able to go.

From the time that you arrive and line up, to the time you walk out of the gates at the end of the night, you are immersed in a life of fantasy. While we stood in line characters came up and introduced themselves to us and told their stories. We were starting to get a feel for the eccentric experience. Both customers and "villagers" were dressed up. The only way to tell the difference was to spot the villagers with a teal stone necklace.

The park itself if clean and beautiful. The pathways are beautifully done with trees and greenery. They have carved jack-o-lanterns greeting you as you walk.

As you talk to the villagers, you are able to get "quests" to go on. We were interested in seeing what the quest was. So we had one start us off. However, there was so much to see and experience we soon forgot the quest. That may have to be on another trip!

There are all kinds of games to play as you go throughout the "Town." You can also stop and see a magic show. It was great to do that.  The kids loved seeing the girl "disappear" into the box.

We decided to go on the "haunt" walk. It was fun to do that. Lucky Dragon and Koala Bear were most scared by the guy that hit his shovel on the metal gate and made a loud "clang." Lucky Dragon thought it was funny to see that the people jumping out did not scare him but scared the older teenage boys behind us. We both laughed when a guy jumped out at us and he did not scream but simply said, "Oh Hi!" HAHAHA

This owl is SO amazing. WE could have stood there and looked at it for so long.

We played the games and went to all the shows. We even went to the train ride that took us around the village. We were all glad that we went. At the end we went to be initiated into the "Black Heart" guard society. To promise to be brave and strong and protect others. Lucky Dragon thought it was cool because he was brave and was able get a photo of the werewolf in the Haunt.

Later, as we were getting into bed he said to me, "I don't understand why the brave guards are called "Black Hearts". Doesn't having a black heart mean you cannot listen to the Spirit?" I love this little guy so much.
