We continue to find ways to take advantage of the warmer weather and the fun autumn activities. After I was done with work we made a made dash down to the Cornbelly's pumpkin patch in Spanish Fork. We have had Cornbelly's season passes for years and we recently found out that because of all the development in Lehi, Cornbelly's is moving to Spanish Fork. In an effort to get people to see the new place, they offered free pumpkins for season pass holders. It was a LONG way down there. I think that both Lady Hiva and I talked about if this is where Cornbelly's moves, we may not have season passes in the future. IT IS SO FAR OUT THERE!!!
We were worried that we were going to miss the pumpkin picking window, but we what being late did was be there for the sunset. It made for some beautiful photos! We had left the house in a rush and it was relatively warm. So I was wearing shorts and slippers, none of us had jackets! (Best dad for the win!! HAHA). Both Muggles were complaining they were cold, so I told them to do jumping jacks to warm up.
After they saw all the fun pumpkins to choose from, they forgot all about being cold.
They had a sunflower field they allowed us to pick some sunflowers to take. Later in the evening I could not figure out why my legs were itchy. I realized that it was because I was running through the prickly sunflowers trying to get several flowers and be back at the Muggles, who were huddling behind a bale of hay to be warm.
When I got back to them, they had deserted their hay bale protection and went searching for pumpkins. They had already collected 20-30 mini white pumpkins in the wagon and Lucky Dragon was bringing over a pumpkin. I told them to wait because we will go back to the area the pumpkins are not so picked through. He said, "But I have to have this pumpkin! It is a BUTT-CHEEK PUMKIN!!" Sure enough it was! We all had a good laugh. In the second photo we told him that it looked like his hand was up the pumpkins butt crack! ...queue all the butt cheek jokes for the rest of the evening.
We ended up with a variety of pumpkins to add to the explosion of pumpkins on our porch already. We have pink pumpkins, grey pumpkins, dark green pumpkins, odd shaped pumpkins, mini pumpkins, big orange carving pumpkins, rough pumpkins, smooth pumpkins and of course the pumpkins that we grew ourselves in our garden (those are our favorites).
