As the month of Gratitude begins to wind down, I have to say I loved focusing on being thankful for the large and small things in my life. I need to do this more often, not just one month of the year. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends.
We started the weekend with Thanksgiving dinner at Lady Hiva's siblings' house. There was SO MUCH food, I think we were trying to feed the entire neighborhood. In the evening Lady Hiva and I went with one of her sisters-in-law and went shopping! We knew it was daring because we went once before on "Black Friday" with my sister and it was CRAZY! We hit Target, Kohls, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart. I think it took the pressure off because we were not actually looking for anything, Lady just wanted to see what was available and I was simply going along to watch all the shopping deranged people let their 'ugly' out over some deal they thought they wanted.
The Wal-Mart we went to had 9--yes, NINE--policemen there! I stopped to talk a photo of the vehicles and a young couple started to laugh. I knew then they had never been to Wal-Mart for Black Friday before! hehe.

Despite the cold this weekend Lady Hiva continued infecting people with the Christmas bug and we put lights up on three other houses! So be aware if you invite us over we may come sporting ribbon and red and green glitter! hehe.

We went down to spend time with my family for a day too. The first item on the list was to go Christmas Tree hunting. Lady Hiva said she had never done that before and wanted to try it. So off we went! We all piled into two trucks and dashed off into the foggy storm that covered the mountains. It did not take long to find some great trees. But by the time we left we were all wet, cold and HUNGRY!
Lucky Dragon did not like to keep his little gloves on and insisted that
he still play in the snow, so we put some adult ski gloves on him that I
could tighten with velcro over his jacket and it kept him from taking
them off--even if he did look like a little troll with hands WAY too big
for his body!
We have so much to be thankful for. Yes, we are still getting used to the cold, bitter weather in Utah, but other than that we don't really have much to complain about. So, we hope that all of you, too, no matter where you are in the world had a great Thanksgiving!
