Celebration Week!

This week has been a week of Celebration! It was Lucky Dragon's first week at a new school and we get to celebrate 11 years of us being a family!

Lucky Dragon was accepted into the French Immersion program for school. We tried to get him into the Chinese Immersion program because the school was closer to our house, but it was unsuccessful. We were lucky because he did get accepted into the French program and he was SO EXCITED! He has always had a passion for France. He often does not understand why other kids have never been to Paris (#firstworldproblems). One of his favorite cousins has also been learning French and he was so stoked to tell her that he was going to learn French.

The school is a bit farther away and there is construction on EVERY road between our house and the school, but it is SO worth the trip. I found myself getting a bit jealous as we talked about the curriculum and the experience. He will grow so much. The way it works is reading and English is taught in English and social studies, math and science are all taught in French. I asked him what he thought of the first day and he said, with a chuckle, "I did not know ANYTHING she said!"

He was especially excited to find out that there are other Tongan students there. He came home to tell us that they found each other at recess and "they were so excited they were all Tongan!" While we were in Hawaii a few months ago, some uncles killed a wild boar. Lucky Dragon was so interested and in a way only he can, he asked for the tusks. Liufau kept the tusks for him and after they were cleaned he had them sent over. Lady Hiva filled them will cement. I took twine and braided a rope. I had to Youtube how you braid with four strings. I then put the necklace together. It was a labor of love from all of us. I hope he loves it for the rest of his life.

Koala Bear is adjusting to having Lucky Dragon gone all day. She welcomes us all home with a hug and a "you came home!" As if we had abandoned her and she doubted we were coming back. She is always up to have breakfast with us and fill us with stories. Lady has tried to distract her with swimming lessons and visits to the museum. Koala Bear HATES swimming lessons. She will calmly and matter-factly tell us when we ask, "I don't like swimming lessons. I cried again."

We lost her in the store...or we thought we did. I found her over in a corner with some heels she had selected trying to get them on! HAHA

For our 11th year of marriage! YAY! We made it, we celebrated as a family. I hand-dipped some chocolate covered strawberries and did a flower arrangement. Lucky Dragon helped me sneak it into the house and kept his mum at bay while I got it all ready. Koala Bear helped devour the chocolate. HAHA.

Lady Hiva and Koala Bear joined me for lunch. We went to the "Local Greek" in Riverton and it was DELICIOUS! After work and school we went to Cheesecake factory and then to the Lego store. Something the four of us all enjoy.
