Autumn Is Here and Winter Is Coming

This last few weeks we have been enjoying the cooler weather--however, there is a few days of frost coming! YIKES! While I love autumn, I am not sure that I am ready for winter again.

We have, as it is becoming an annual tradition, been going to Cornbelly's--a harvest festival at Thanksgiving Point. It is fun to be there. The little Muggles love it! They are always begging to go back. I am impressed every year how much more they add to Cornbelly's. There are activities for all ages.

The kids love going from activity to activity. They jump on the giant "pillow", dig and bury each other in the Corncob beach, mine for jewels and gold, ride tractor trains, and zip lines. Koala Bear especially loves the obstacle course. She could spend all her time there and does not want any help. Such an independent little person.

This weekend, we even had some cousins join us at Cornbelly's! That made the experience even more fun.

Lucky Dragon finished soccer this week as well. He got better and better over the season. It still is a bit of a social activity for him...but he loves it. And at least it gets him outside and running around, which he loves. So running outside and people to talk with, win/win for our dragon.

Speaking of Cousins, we also had cousins come over and spend the night too. Koala Bear loved the fact that they would paint nails with her. She acted like she was the queen getting her pampering spa day. They were even willing to allow her to paint their nails. At first I was impressed with how well she did, it was one color and very little mess...then it went down hill as she wanted to add more and more colors. Soon there was a mix of colors all over the hands and toes! She loved it!

Lucky Dragon has decided that he wants to be an author. He has written a few "books" for us to read. It was great to see how he thinks of so many details. He writes and illustrates them all himself. One is below.

I am amazed at how his mind is growing so fast. We were playing a game with some of the cousins where we line up a whole bunch of colored pencils and someone turns away and one pencil is removed. The person then looks to figure out which one is missing. He did it three times and each time knew which one it was within seconds! SO SHOCKED. He enjoying school too. We can tell that the French Immersion is making a difference. He is always "testing" our French (which is nil), giving examples and singing.
