In Our Back Yard

We decided to go on an adventure in our backyard! One of Lucky Dragon's favorite things to do is go on "adventures." It was great to do that this week. We walked through the dust and sage brush--so common in our part of the desert--and arrived at this little oasis. Clearly, someone else had been there before us, but to Lucky Dragon this was an exploration heaven! Each bridge, each new view drew gasps of delight!

We had fun exploring and then he wanted to bring his sister back. She too was excited. It was as if we were experiencing it all again as she did her own gasps of delight!

As the two of them normally are...they could not be near water very long before they ended up IN the water. (Must by my kids for sure!) It started off with him wanting to cross to another side he had not explored yet. At first he tried to build himself a bridge of sticks...then he moved directly to just walking in the water! haha

She tried to follow and slipped on the mud and went completely in!

As I was over watching Koala Bear, I heard Lucky Dragon cheering in excitement that he "found a SNAKE!! Woohoo!" (he loves them). I told him to wait and not get too close until I came over. I was hoping it was just a water snake...but no.

It was about that time my desire for 'adventuring' was complete! haha
We are loving that we have summer arriving! We have tried to explore as much is COVID-ly possible. One of our favorites is the opening of the shave ice shacks! We have our go-to places that meet our standards. And for those of you not from Hawaii, Sno-cones or Snow-cones ARE NOT the same as Shave ice.

This girl has been dressing herself lately. It is so funny to see what she chooses as an outfit. If you can read her shirt it says, "Glitter is my favorite color." She is also into her sparkly sunglasses and shiny purses. She cannot leave with just one either. She usually has two, if not three of them with her at all times. Even when she is riding her bike, hiking, or just walking around the house.

These two have really loved gardening too. They potted their own succulents that they chose while in Beaver.

Lucky Dragon wanted to make his own cactus out of a rock. It was really creative. He painted it himself too. He is quite the artist.
We have been trying to talk Lady Hiva into a puppy still. I found the perfect puppy this week...a mini Aussie! We even went to meet him. But Lady Hiva still did not allow it....SO SAD...
