We only had one more weekend until Christmas Day so the Muggles and I decided to go with some friends to Michelstadt. Lady Hiva and I had gone to explore the city during the autumn time, but this was our first time going for Christmas. The town was decked out in holiday spirit. It still reminds me of a Hogsmeade village from Harry Potter.
They had these life sized wooden statues of the Creche around the city. It was fun to see them. I did not take photos of them all, but was able to get some photos of most of them.
They city is only about 2,500 people. They were so happy to share their village with all of us. They opened up the old flour mill for us to see. We could climb up the rickety old stairs to the different levels to see all the working gears.
We also stopped to see the local glassblower. It was fun to watch him share his work with the children.
This time we went to the Jewish Synagogue that has an ancient history. Most of the Jews in the community were deported during the war, but a few families have moved back and keep the synagogue open. We went in this time! The Rabbi was so happy to show us all the ancient relics and tell us about the synagogue. I am glad we went in.
