Baptisms, Balloons, Baking and Missions

This weekend was SO busy. I think that Lady Hiva and I both slept a total of 3 hours each for the entire weekend. We had several family events this week, one nephew was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, another returned from his mission to California, and a great nephew had his 1st birthday. That means we get together as a family...which means we have to eat (A LOT OF FOOD!)...which means we need food...which means we need a cake...which means it cannot be just a box cake...which means we have so much to do. HAHA Talk about a cascade effect.

While Lady Hiva baked cake from scratch (the request was chocolate cake with raspberries), I filled up hundreds of balloons. Then I made a huge garland of balloons. It was fun to see the result at the end, but the multi-step process was a LONG experience. Thankfully, Pandora and Netflix kept us company while we toiled through the night.

We then decorated the chapel. It was fun to have some of the nieces come and help us work too. They are always ready to help and willing to work. The end result was great...even if I still don't know whom all the superhero characters are.

In a sea of boys...there is always one ELSA! HAHA

When Lady Hiva bakes a cake, she does not do it the simple or easy way. She makes these from scratch. And if it does not taste the way she wants it to, she throws it out and starts again. It seems to be her way of showing others how much she loves them. I am not sure people realize the hours that she spends to provide these cakes.

Someone woke up and wanted to join us...she sampled the raspberries and chocolate when I was not looking.

I came home from meetings and jumped right in to help.

I love this photo that Lucky Dragon took. It says so much about us, about our relationship and what we like to do.
