Surviving Winter and READY FOR SPRING

February was a month of bi-polar weather. It was warm some days, then cold on others. We had dry days and wet days...calm days and raging wind days. I think we are all ready for Spring to arrive! In the meantime we have tried to find fun things to do as we pass the winter months.

We went up to Tibble Fork Reservoir in American Fork Canyon. We have often been there, but we usually go in the Spring and Summer when we can enjoy the cool water and the warm sun. This was our first time to go when the water is frozen over. Luckily, we had some nieces and nephews we talked into joining us. We had so much fun. In fact, we did not take many photos we were having too good of a time.

Lucky Dragon was a die-hard. He would go down the steepest and longest hills that I would go down! I was proud of his bravery. I think the next day all of us were sore and bruised. But it was SO worth it!

On the days that it is a bit warmer we have tried to get out and enjoy it. Most often that is a bike ride around the neighborhood with a few stops at the parks along the way.

The days that it is cold, we have to be a bit more creative. We have gone to the aquarium, to the the museums, and find crafts to do in the house. Lukcy Dragon loves to make paper crafts out of the book he bought at the library sale. Koala Bear, of course, loves to paint her nails (when the paint is drying is the only time she sits still) and walk around in the highest heels she can find in Lady Hiva's closet.

We also find time to cook and bake. They both like to join in. It makes the process longer, but I am glad that they are learning how to provide for themselves. They both love strawberries, and love chocolate covered strawberries even more! Lady Hiva told them that if they wanted them dipped in Strawberries, they had to do it themselves. So they did. Math equation for life Hard Work = Delicious results.

We found an "Elsa cake pan" at the store and tried it out. Looks pretty good!

We have spent plenty of time with family. Both kids have loved having Grandma and Grandpa here from Hawaii. Lucky Dragon likes to tell them stories and ask questions. He begged Lady Hiva to take him to the store to buy berries. She asked why and he told her that he wanted to buy some for grandpa because berries will help cure his cancer. (He learned about anti-oxidants recently). Such a thoughtful little guy.

Koala Bear especially being around them. And clearly has a new love for having her feet massaged. She should be massaging grandma's feet not the other way around! HAHA

...if I shoulder surf like this, do you think he will notice? HAHA

I did not get a photo of it, but we got to sit with Grandma Ginger at Church yesterday and that is ALWAYS a treat!
